The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has reiterated its dedication to the energy stability of Nigeria.
During a stakeholders’ engagement with the National Assembly Press Corps on Saturday in Abuja, the company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, asserted that NNPC Ltd will persist in contributing positively to the economy.
According to Soneye, NNPCL is not solely focused on fueling automobiles; it is also advancing national development through strategic investments and initiatives.
He stated, “I am pleased to welcome you once again to this stakeholder engagement proudly sponsored by NNPC.
“It is genuinely uplifting to witness how it has united us. At NNPC, we are committed to fueling not only vehicles but also significant moments like this. This evening is another occasion where NNPCL will successfully fuel joy and foster great collaborations. ”
Elaborating further, the NNPC Ltd representative remarked that the company’s presence throughout the nation signifies its resolve to positively influence the lives of Nigerians.
“We are poised to conduct another 1,000 surgeries in the North and an additional 1,000 in the Southeast and South-South before the conclusion of the second quarter of 2025,” he indicated.
Additionally, he revealed NNPCL’s partnership with Afreximbank to finalize the African Medical Center of Excellence (AMCE), a 500-bed facility specializing in oncology, hematology, cardiology, and advanced medical training for Nigerians.
“This strategic investment seeks to improve access to specialized healthcare, ensuring that Nigerians receive top-tier medical services. The AMCE is projected to commence operations in June 2025,” Soneye disclosed.
“Throughout Nigeria, NNPC hospitals continue to serve a crucial role in enhancing healthcare access and preserving lives. This is a clear demonstration of how NNPC is leveraging oil revenues to positively affect the lives of Nigerians on a daily basis,” he stated.
While characterizing oil as the foundation of Nigeria’s economy, Soneye acknowledged that the energy sector remains a significant employer, creating opportunities for millions of Nigerians, ranging from exploration fields to refining facilities and beyond.
“For countries like Nigeria, oil transcends being merely a commodity; it drives transportation, energizes industries, and generates revenues that facilitate national development,” he remarked.
“Without oil, contemporary life as we know it would be significantly altered,” he added.
