CHAN Tournament’s East Africa Co-Hosts Secure Quarterfinal Spots

Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda – co-hosts of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) – have each secured quarterfinal spots, a collective achievement igniting passionate home support across the region.

Kenya, making their debut, entered the tournament with little expectation but stunned soccer fans by topping Group A. Their decisive moment came on Sunday when they sealed a 1-0 win over Zambia.

Tanzania was equally impressive, cruising through Group B as leaders with 10 points. The Taifa Stars won three of their four matches. The Cranes of Uganda fought to a dramatic 3-3 draw against South Africa in Kampala. The point lifted Uganda to the top of Group C, ensuring their first-ever place in the knockout rounds.
