Former president Goodluck Jonathan has joined other Nigerians mourning the death of Somtochukwu Maduagwu, a popular television anchor who died on Monday during an armed robbery at her residence in Abuja. The former president said Maduagwu died at the “peak of her potential”, urging the police to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Neighbors have said the journalist died trying to escape the robbers by jumping from her third-floor apartment balcony. The attackers reportedly subdued security guards and went from flat to flat, robbing residents of their possessions, including cars, laptops, phones, and other valuables.
