The Liberia National Police has summoned several members of the House of Representatives as part of an ongoing investigation into the fire that damaged the Capitol Building—the headquarters of the Liberian Legislature—in December 2024.

In a letter to House Speaker Richard Koon, the police requested a meeting with certain lawmakers identified as persons of interest, including former Speaker Fonati Koffa.

In response, Speaker Koon directed the House judiciary committee to accompany the legislators to the police station.
