The government has said it is committed to commemorating the country’s 65th independence anniversary on October 1, with “dignity and enthusiasm”, despite cancelling the traditional parade. All other programs lined up for the day would go on as planned, a government statement said, calling on Nigerians to remain patriotic and “support the reforms” of President Bola Tinubu.
