President-elect John Mahama has shared his unwavering passion for farming, describing it as the core of his life and the foundation of his retirement aspirations.<\/p>\n

During a recent visit to his farms in Yapei and Busunu, located in the Savannah region, Mr. Mahama provided an intimate look into his agricultural ventures and future goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cFarming is my life. I love it, and I\u2019m certain that if I hadn\u2019t pursued a career in politics, I would have been a full-time farmer,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cOnce I retire, after this chapter of my life, I intend to devote myself fully to farming. If you want to find me, you\u2019ll have to come to the farm.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former president has invested significantly in both crop and livestock farming, transforming his agricultural initiative into a thriving enterprise.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe began with 300 goats and other small ruminants, and today, the numbers have increased to nearly 500, with an additional 200 animals added recently,\u201d Mahama revealed. He also outlined plans to expand into sheep and cattle farming, underscoring his commitment to growth.<\/p>\n

Balancing political responsibilities with his passion for farming has been a challenge, but Mahama finds immense satisfaction in working the land.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, farming is more than just a business\u2014it\u2019s a way of life. It\u2019s therapeutic and deeply fulfilling,\u201d he said, expressing how agriculture allows him to connect with nature while contributing to Ghana\u2019s food security.<\/p>\n

On the crop production side, his farm cultivates maize and soybeans, which are supplied directly to Asutuare farms for poultry feed. This dual focus on crops and livestock reflects his dedication to building a sustainable and impactful agricultural legacy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
