The opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) of former president George Weah\u00a0has described\u00a0the fire incident at his house on Wednesday as a premeditated attack on his life. The party’s chairperson, Janga Kowo, said the fire caused significant damage to the former president’s home, including his bedroom. It is not yet known if Weah was in the house at the time of the fire.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the CDC said the incident followed other violent confrontations with State security and the president’s supporters, citing an alleged attack on well-wishers who had gone to receive him at the airport.\u00a0“Several of our partisans were brutally manhandled, placed in handcuffs, and in some instances, jailed,” the CDC statement read.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
